Miglė Atkočiūnaitė
Doctor-Psychiatrist
I have experience working in the Centre for Addiction Diseases in Kaunas, the Šiauliai and Kaunas hospitals’ acute mental disorders wards, and a psychotherapeutic-psychiatric day hospital in Palanga.
I work as a psychotherapist in a private office and attend Vilnius University to study individual psychodynamic psychotherapy. These studies extend my perspective when working with patients, directing my attention away from symptoms and diagnosis and toward specific personality qualities, life events, and interpersonal interactions that may have contributed to the emotional challenges they are currently facing.
My goal is to lessen the patient’s pain by giving him the resources he needs to start the healing process. I think that a combination of medication, psychotherapy, and psychological support is the most successful kind of treatment.
I treat a broad spectrum of mental illnesses, including addictions, depression, anxiety, bipolar and psychotic disorders, and personality issues. I support those who identify as LGBTQ+.
